Valentine’s Day 2020 became a musical jazz love fest at On Stage at Kingsborough,  thanks to Tatiana Eva-Marie and The Avalon Jazz Band‘s stunning performance. This special night by Manhattan Beach in Brooklyn began with a night club atmosphere and was sold out,with some 250 concert goers  in attendance. Along with the spectacular music , guests were treated to wine, cheese, crackers and fruit , which were served at the entrancing jazz notes began to cascade through the room.

The Avalon Jazz Band featured violinist  Gabe Terracciano , guest violinist Daniel Garlitsky, guitarist Michael Valeanu and bassist Wallace Stelzer, who aptly complimented Tatiana Eva-Marie’s hypnotic vocals .

The 17 song set included the Joscho Stephan jazz  classic “Swing 42”,  the timeless classic “Tea For Two”, “I Wish You Love” and Cole Porter’s “I Get A Kick Out Of You”. Another highlight  from the evening had many of the attendees  on their feet when Ms. Eva-Marie sang Sidney Bechet’s “Si Tu Vois Ma Mère”, which was featured in Woody Allen’s  Midnight In Paris film.

There was also an energetic dueling violin segment , with Tatiana Eva-Marie adding dance steps, while Gabe Terracciano and  Daniel Garlitsky tried to outdo each other, to the delight of the audience. They also performed an upbeat version of the French Creole song,”Maladie d’Amour” ( “Love Sickness”), which brought another round of thunderous applause from the audience, who signaled their approval of this selection for Valentine’s Day. Tatiana Eva-Marie and The Avalon Jazz Band ended their set with  their own rendition of “Dark Eyes”,  a well-known and popular Russian romance folk song.

With this evening of exciting Parisian jazz , On Stage at Kingsborough more than fulfilled its’ mission to present world-class music. This enrapturing performance at Kingsborough’s Lighthouse in Brooklyn  was witnessed by attendees on a night when love was not only in the air, but also on the stage.
