The Photo Pit Takes A Look Back … to the Future

Publisher’ s Note:  Brooklyn’s own Kyra Kverno is an extraordinary music photographer, who has traveled the globe to capture artists at festivals and venues. However, her camera lens seems to know when she is capturing images in her hometown, and Brooklyn Roads Magazine appreciates her talent and contributions. She describes some of her emotions at Brooklyn music venues :

“The sunshine on my face. The taste of an ice-cold beverage. The anticipation of my favorite band about to hit the stage. The smiles all around me. The laughter and tears of joy as our favorite song or tune is played. The looks on the faces of band members so overjoyed to be performing again in front of us. A live audience! Feel it! I do!

I can feel the goosebumps on my skin. I can see the sublime concert hall that is Kings Theatre. I can smell the sunscreen and the amazing food on the grill at Afropunk. I can hear the cheers of the crowd and the bowling pins crash at Brooklyn Bowl.

It has been a long time, my friends, but we are back — or least so much closer to the moments we all have missed for what feels like an eternity. Cheers to getting back to doing what we love.”
