Charles Bradley , The Lone Bellow and The Lighthouse & The Whaler Light Up The Brooklyn Bowl
In celebration of the launch of Paste Cloud, a new video and audio sharing platform entry, Paste founder Josh Jackson hosted a free night of unforgettable music at the Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg. Showcasing a mix of everything from rock to soul, this was a very special night of music performances , in a high energy and packed house .
The first act was Cleveland’s indie-rock band, The Lighthouse and the Whaler, performed a mix of tracks from their latest album , Mont Royal.
They were followed by Brooklyn’s The Lone Bellow. Showcasing their harmonious vocals, they wowed the crowd by performing several of their hit songs, including “Jessica” and “The One You Should’ve Let Go”.
Lastly, party goers were treated to an energetic performance by Charles Bradley. Entering the stage to the Curtis Mayfield classic, “Freddie’s Dead” , he showcased his unique style and irresistible vocals.
In the midst of splits and dips, Bradley and his band blessed the crowd with funk filled tunes that spoke to your soul. He kept the guests grooving with tunes like “Heartaches and Pain” and ‘You Put The Flame On It”.
During “ Why Is It So Hard”, he became overcome with feeling and couldn’t help but speak about the hardships of present day American Life. He emphasized that “no matter the color of your skin, we all bleed the same” and then jumped into the crowd, hugging several party goers.
Charles Bradley later returned to the stage for an encore and performed crowd favorite “How Long” , surrounded by fan’s red roses and lilies before exiting the stage.
