Daniel’s official bio describes him as, “an earnest R&B/pop sound nestled between emotive lush vocals and an airy falsetto that commands one’s attention,” and that description holds exceptionally true with the songs on his new release.

Night Wolf’s first track, “Me,” creates a mellow tone that is pleasing to the ear. Hearing Daniel’s voice with reverb over a simple yet subtle backing track serves as a perfect segue into the world of the album. A minute into the song the simplicity is replaced by an electronic R&B beat that is easy to dance to and let loose.

Some of the following tracks, such as “Near You” and a personal favorite, “Hurt You Anymore,” carry the same easygoing tone as a techno-infused R&B track serves as the background that highlights Daniel’s falsettos and riffs perfectly. His sound comes through with his impressive and effortless range, a sound very comparable to artists such as The Weeknd and a music style similar to SZA or Khalid.

Near the end of the album, listeners will find “Round Town,” a collaboration between Daniel and R&B/soul singer Asiah. The song features the two artists singing through a series of harmonies and melodies so catchy that listeners will likely have the hook stuck in their heads long after the track has ended.

The final track, “You,” is a ballad that is slightly imbued with the R&B and pop sound that listeners are now accustomed to after hearing all music leading up to it. To conclude the album with this song almost feels as if the listener was owed more music or explanation, as both the song and album have told an exceptional and flowing story.

Of the 13 tracks, no two songs sound alike, as each one ends leaving you wanting more. Night Wolf takes listeners on a 50-minute journey through R&B music infused with rich soul and current pop beats. We can’t wait to hear what’s next for Adrian Daniel !
